The UNION 15th anniversary celebration continues throughout July with the food, people, and memories that shaped our story. Familiar dishes are returning. UNION classics are being reimagined by guest chefs. There will also be cakes, live music, special promotions, and birthday parties to close the month.

Two Beloved UNION Cakes Return
For the UNION anniversary, two cakes that longtime guests remember are returning for a limited time.
1. Dark Chocolate Tart
The Dark Chocolate Tart returns with its rich texture and intense chocolate flavor.
Each bite delivers the decadent character that made it a favorite when it first appeared at UNION.
2. Nastar Crumble Cake
The Nastar Crumble Cake draws inspiration from one of Indonesia's most familiar festive treats.
It combines nostalgic pineapple flavors with the texture and generosity of a UNION cake. The result is familiar with its own characteristics.
Both throwback cakes are available for a limited time throughout the anniversary period.
Six Throwback Dishes Return to the Menu
Every restaurant has dishes that guests continue to mention even after they're no longer on the menu.
They are remembered at the counter, requested during dinner, and brought up whenever old UNION favorites come up in conversation.
This July, six of those dishes are returning:

4 Guest Chefs Reimagine UNION Classics
A restaurant reaches fifteen through the dishes people keep ordering.
Some become signatures. Others become part of a guest's personal history with the restaurant. They earn their place through years of lunches, dinners, celebrations, and return visits.
For UNION’s 15th anniversary, 4 guest chefs were invited to revisit some of these dishes.
Each chef takes a UNION classic apart and rebuilds it through their own culinary perspective. The collaborations are available exclusively at UNION Plaza Senayan.
1. Brian Sumito Presents Century Egg Carbonara
Available from July 5 to 11, 2026
Widely known as The Food Whisperer, Brian Sumito first built his reputation as one of Indonesia's leading food photographers.
He later entered the restaurant world through Pho Thicc, his Southern Vietnamese concept. He also runs a private dining supper club from his kitchen studio.
His cooking explores what he calls Chitalian, a Chinese-Italian perspective that discovers shared ideas between two culinary traditions.
For UNION's anniversary, Brian reinterpreted the Pork Crackling Pasta as Century Egg Carbonara.
The dish brought his Chinese-Italian approach to one of UNION's most recognized pasta dishes.
2. Arief Tonggeng Presents Chicken Steak with Kulat Pelawan Sauce
Available from July 12 to 18, 2026
The second week of the Guest Chef Edition is led by Chef Arief Tonggeng.
Known for his expressive approach to flavor, Chef Arief has spent years developing food shaped by craftsmanship, regional ingredients, and personal stories.
As the chef behind Tamu Jakarta, his work connects traditional references with contemporary ideas.
His anniversary dish begins with UNION's Chicken Steak.
Chef Arief's version features stuffed chicken breast, charred vegetables, spiced carrot-and-ginger purée, and burnt scallion chimichurri. A Kulat Pelawan sauce replaces the original porcini sauce.
The wild mushroom from Borneo adds a distinctly Indonesian reference to the UNION classic.
The dish is available at UNION Plaza Senayan until July 18, 2026.
3. Iwan Bedjo Presents Oxtail Ramen
Available from July 19 to 25, 2026
Chef Iwan Bedjo is known for transforming familiar flavors into comforting, unexpected dishes.
His work across Zuzu, Soto Sabar, and most recently Supagetti reflects a careful approach to simplicity. Each element has a purpose, even when the final dish appears effortless.
For UNION’s anniversary, Chef Iwan reimagines the Dirty Oxtail Soup as Oxtail Ramen.
The dish retains the deep, braised character associated with the original. It then places those flavors in a different form, built around the warmth and familiarity of ramen.
4. Rachel Tjahja Presents Bakmie Ayam with Char Siu Glazed Foie Gras
Available from July 26 to 31, 2026
Chef Rachel Tjahja closes the Guest Chef Edition.
A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Sydney, Rachel is a chef and restaurateur whose work explores memory, identity, and modern Asian cooking.
Her dishes are drawn from her Chinese-Indonesian heritage and her study of East Asian food cultures.
For the collaboration, she returns to UNION's iconic Bakmie Ayam Foie Gras.
Her version features Bakmie Ayam with Char Siu Glazed Foie Gras. The dish combines the comfort of Indonesian bakmi with contemporary techniques and East Asian influences.
Spend an Evening with Sammy Simorangkir at UNION PIM
Some songs become inseparable from a moment.
They remind us of a particular dinner, a familiar person, or a night that stayed with us long after it ended.
On Friday, July 24, 2026, the UNION 15th anniversary celebration continues with a live session featuring Sammy Simorangkir.
The performance begins at 9 PM at UNION Pondok Indah Mall.
Known for one of Indonesia's most enduring voices, Sammy will lead an evening built around songs guests recognize from their first note.
It will be a night for old favorites, shared memories, and fifteen years of moments worth singing about.
Closing the Month with UNION's Birthday Parties
Fifteen years deserve a proper celebration.
UNION will close the anniversary month with two birthday parties.
The Jakarta celebration will take place on Friday, July 31, 2026, at UNION Plaza Senayan.
The Surabaya celebration will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at UNION Pakuwon Mall.
Both events are invitation-only.
The evenings are UNION's way of thanking the people who helped shape the journey. They offer a chance to sit together once more, raise a glass, and celebrate the stories created across fifteen years.
