This time, Bar Luca is heading north, taking its cues from the pintxos bars of the Basque Country and the seafood-driven kitchens of Galicia along Spain’s northern coast.

Think Crab and Uni piled onto Pintxos, Octopus and Potato with smoky Pimentón Aioli, and Cuttlefish straight off the plancha with Salsa Verde and Ink Vinaigrette. No rush, no set menu to follow. Just plates that keep coming and wine that keeps pouring.

From the Raciones, Grilled Ibérico Pork Belly with Smoked Grapes, whole Barramundi in Pil-Pil Sauce with Kombu Ikura Rice, and Braised Wagyu over Mushroom Rice, finished with Rioja Reduction and Sherry Onions.

To drink, we’re travelling across Spain too, with a crisp, saline 2023 Albariño from Rías Baixas, 2018 and 2019 Tempranillo Reservas from Rioja with notes of dark cherry and leather, and a bright, juicy 2021 Garnacha from Penedès, alongside plenty more by the glass and bottle.
